Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) are known as greenhouse gases. These compounds prevent heat from escaping into space by covering the earth like a blanket.
As the world's population increases and economic development becomes more active, CO2 emissions continue to increase at an accelerated rate.
For example, deforestation reduces the number of plants that absorb CO2 and the use of fossil fuel such as petroleum releases CO2 into the atmosphere. Through human activities, the blanket of greenhouse gases enveloping the earth is becoming thicker, which in turn is making the earth warmer.
